This is a letter directed to the fans, devotees, and followers (both committed and casual) of conservative celebrity preachers such as Kenneth Copeland, Greg Locke, and other similar pastors, speakers, and influencers who have publicly prophesied that Donald Trump would remain president of the United States.
Inauguration Day has passed and Joe Biden has been sworn in as the 46th President of the United States of America.
That means that your pastors, prophets, and teachers were wrong.
Remember back to the beginning of Donald Trump’s presidency. Democrats, liberals, and progressives spent a good amount of time shouting “Not my president!” about Donald Trump. You pointed and laughed at them.
You’re now doing the exact same thing. You’re pretending like Joe Biden is not your president.
I wrote here that Truth can be defined as “that which is.” The Truth of the matter is that Joe Biden is your president.
But I’m not here to talk about Joe Biden. I’m here to talk to the followers of preachers like Kenneth Copeland, Greg Locke, and all the rest that are like them.
Those of you who follow these prophesying celebrity pastors can be roughly broken down into two groups:
Group 1: Those that truly believed that these preachers were literally getting a message from God about Donald Trump remaining President. These prophesies have been proven wrong and you don’t care. You’ll continue to attend their churches, consume their content, give them money even if it damages your own financial well-being, or think that by way of some conspiracy that Joe Biden’s inauguration will somehow be reversed.
Group 2: Those that truly believed that these preachers were literally getting a message from God about Donald Trump remaining President, BUT NOW suspect that these preachers might be full of shit. If these pastors could be so WRONG about something they believed so vehemently to be true, then what else could they also be wrong about?
This letter is NOT for the people in Group 1. Feel free to go and have a nice day.
Now, for you guys in Group 2. You are doing the right thing by doubting and asking questions.
I’ve been there myself and I know plenty people who have as well. It always starts small. Despite having believed something for our entire lives, there was one thing that suddenly came up that made us stop and think, “Hmm… maybe everything isn’t as it seems.”
There are many reasons why people leave their religion, and when the religious leaders we look up to make failed prophecies, there’s just no forgetting it. The damage is done. You’re forced to wonder what else they’ve said just to maintain their following and brand.
One of the biggest things that keep people from proceeding with questioning their religion and beliefs is fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of having your entire life turned upside down, fear of losing your friends and family, perhaps fear of losing your job if you work for a church.
Yes, it’s true that exploring your questions and doubts will be hard. I’ve been through it myself. And my Mission is help guys who are in your exact same position.
If you’re ready to acknowledge that your religious leaders were wrong in their prophecies and want to further explore why that may be, feel free to reach out to me with the contact form on this website. I will respond to literally every single one of you (even the trolls from Group 1 that will inevitably send me a message). I’ll do my best to point you in the right direction to begin your journey. For some, that may be reading books with an open mind. For others, it may mean therapy with a qualified therapist who is familiar with Religious Trauma Syndrome.
Just whatever you do, please don’t just sweep this moment under the rug. Don’t just shrug and say, “I’ll trust God.” You’ve been taught your whole life that God has a plan and thus has a plan for whoever becomes president. It’s been clearly demonstrated that your religious leaders are not in tune with God’s plan—only their own. Now is your chance to break free and regain control of your own life.
